Digital Art Specials

Digital Art Update

Only a one off offering this month with a still from Decembers shoot with Mercybongo at The Boardroom Studio in Derby. I used a lot of bokeh in the picture which is what I did many moons ago with some of the old flower shots that can be seen on the website. Its a good way to hide empty spaces?

Digital Art - Update

Turn back the clock to Novembers blog when I spoke about a shoot I did in the Boardroom Studio and Zavod Studio on the same day? One was with tattooed model Izzy Holliday a recreation of a panel from a graphic novel called 'Judgement On Gotham' (Judge Dredd vs Batman) where Judge Death is being tormented by his fears (Cuddly toys) With Izzy we also made a pictures with Izzy kicking a vending machine in Death Valley. picture is called 'Shit ! …. and I came all this way …?' Notice the child's tricycle and UFO's above. So who has come all this way?

Check out also pictures of taken of Xenia Model in the Debbie Harry 'Koo Koo' inspired LP, shot in her Zavod Studio in Sheffield/.The pins through her face were created by using knitting needles and added to the portrait in post production (Photoshop) edit As well as a simple portrait that stops and makes you look twice … asking what is wrong with this picture? There is also a one of digital creation featuring Mercybongo. That I will go into in the shoot section below.

Marie Jean Saxton Halloween Special (for the 'Digital Art' section)

Personally I am not a believer in celebrating Halloween and I certainly do not open my front door to the hordes of little brats that come trick or treating. It beats me how that American tradition was picked up in this country? I do remember fondly as a teenager on the estate I used to live on when one sole kid was trick or treating going door to door. I had told him not to bother knocking at my fathers house as he will get nothing for his troubles but a flee in his ear. Sure enough the kid knocked and ended up explaining trick or treat to my Dad for twenty minutes. And when he asked if he would get any sweets or money he was given a stern 'No' and had the door slammed in his face.. Well I did warn him !

So here is the lovely Marie Jean Saxton with Devil horns I purchased from Amazon and a pink suit on. I have had to shift the colour in Photoshop to make it red, but I just love the pointed shoulders the jacket has. It adds a certain style to the pictures. The laptop images are copied from a front cover of a magazine I picked up from the train station that featured a cartoon of the Devil offering bad things on the internet. The image stuck in my head and I wanted to bring it to life. I think it worked out quite well. So thank you to model Marie Jean Saxton and Phil Lynam at the Boardroom Studio in Derby.

Digital Art Update

Just a few digital art special I made from six of the images featuring Mercybongo at our recent shoot. They are a mixture of flowers and model, I do mean to get back to doing a bit more digital art as I had been doing when Covid came along, but its getting inspired to do it. Maybe in the new year?

September Digital Art

Only three this month and a few on the boxing theme featuring Nicolie Campbell

August Digital Art

Some old and some new this month, with a publishing of some very old alternative pictures I took of a fancy gerbera. I gave them a Mediterranean feel about them, but can not for the life of me remember how I created it. There is also three tattooed ladies pictures. I have added the tattoos in Photoshop for effect.

May Digital Art

A bit of an oriental feel to the pictures for this month, with my stab at three Japanese inspired images. The two vases were pictures I took some time ago now and never got around to using (In truth I ran out of ideas knowing what to do with them!). So here with a lot of help from Photoshop are this months Digital Art offerings

Still Life / Fine Art Gallery - Update

Only two pictures for this month and they were taken in my kitchen using a Halo Lamp I purchased from Amazon in one case to produce the intense red colour. The flower is a tulip Amy had grown in the garden and had well past its sell by date, but still looked photogenic.

March Digital Art

For this months digital art I have had a theme on the late Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. I watched a biography on TV about him and liked his work so did some research on him and his style. Here are six gold inspired images, in a style like the great artist. … but nowhere near as good as him.

February Digital Art

Sunflowers is a theme this month. With help from our friends Chris and Wendy at Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours, I took these images of Amy minus her pretty face. Choosing instead a Sunflower and an orange roll neck jumper. The three images are titles ‘Sunflower Head,’ ‘Sunflower Kisses’ and Sunflower Smoker Choker.’

January Digital Art

With a lack of model shoots going around I have chosen to create some more, nature based digital art this cold month. All that is with the exception of the ‘Levitation (Trumps Gone)’ picture and the syfy moon over water image.

November Digital Art

With another lockdown stopping me from doing a fashion shoot and my ever changing health, I have managed to do a few Digital Art pictures. Note this month that nearly all of the pictures feature women with their backs to the camera. Just a theme to link them all.

October Digital Art

Well its October and silly season is here again, so a few digital arts I put together for halloween. The images are titled ‘Clown,’ ‘Assylum’ and ‘Matron.’ You can work out which is what. There is also an one off picture I made for my wife Amy on her 40thh anniversity of coming to the UK. Its called ’Vietnam’ and thanks to Jane for the original carving it came from.

June Digital Art

Just a small offering from this month on Digital Art. I took all the images (including the Dalek) and with Amy’s help she styled the Barbie Doll hair and her smoking something illegal !!!, Amy very helpfully made the ‘Just Married’ sign and held the chalk. So starting with that chalk image on a serious current subject. Black Lives Matter. More next month.

May Digital Art

A mixed blag of stuff in here this month. A mixture of weird, romantic, horror and pop art.

April Digital Art

So with no models shoots or flowers to photograph I have fallen back to making pictures in the composite style that I enjoy. Here we have a re-edit from last months shoot, along with various elements of fantasy stuff.

The original images I get from Adobe Stock Library then re work into a new composite picture. Its fun and makes you think about what you are doing with digital manipulation.
