This is the bit where I show you snaps from my sisters wedding to Colin, before she jetted off to America for her honeymoon. I did not photograph the usual stuff like wedding dresses and the cutting of the cake, as she had paid some more than capable Wedding photographers to take care of all of that and I could not better them. Nor wished to try. Instead I took pictures of more incidental things like the Sandwichs and layers of small cakes served up for mid afternoon tea. Champagne and beer glasses, and even shadows on the wall of lights from outside the venue as the Sun was setting in the golden hour mode. I hope the lack of Wedding dresses does not disappoint you all?

Random Stuff – Red Scale Film
While out photographing the landscapes and architecture in March, I took out with me some film stock I purchased from Harman Labs (the makers behind Ilford Black and white film) .They have just brought out a new colour film with a difference. Its a red-scale film That colours everything red (not surprisingly !!)
This was the first time I used it with some interesting results. It has made the pictures look as though they were taken at night and with a darkish glow to the skies. The film is also very grainy. Of all of the pictures, my favourites are of the Silver Birch trees and the hotel. Random Stuff - Dead Town
This is some random stuff I took the other day of places long past their prime. Including Lucy's Cafe, a nice cafe but badly situated and closed down some time ago. A shop whose name was not on the signage with an empty room but for a door and a few things inside. And the Portland Arms Pub, all boarded up. While taking pictures of the pub two passers by stopped to tell us about the history of the pub. One man mentioned that he watched Prince Charles wedding to Lady Diana in that pub and how he missed it. Telling us also that someone set fire to it before this Christmas gone. The other traveller recounted how he crashed out inside the building after he was made homeless and it was abandoned.
They both had interesting stories and genuinely missed the place.
Random Stuff !!!
On a trip into town the other week I got dropped off in a taxi as near as I could to the market place (what's left of it anyway!!) and walked the rest. This is when I took a better look at what was around me to see if I could make any pictures out of it. And I was lucky. There is a scene waiting to be captured of some beer barrels outside the back of a pub, in a blink and you will miss it corner of the lane. I stood looking at it seeing if it worked, then sat down to take its composition. It looked a bit dark and dingy, which was perfect for the image I had in mind. The results are as follows below along with a second set of pictures taken of a side of an old house, with more wall than windows and peeling of paint. I think these pictures work, but I just don't have a file they can go in on the site. So I am showing them only on this blog as extras and random stuff/ I hope you like them?
Random Stuff !!!
Just a few random things I snapped while being at Mum and Dads. It got to the golden hour and this beautiful light was streaming through the front window, gently lighting up the scatter pillows on the settee. It seemed to pick out the fabrics textures and subtle colours which I liked. There for a fleeting moment, then gone all to fast. I also took snaps of a glass of orange juice with metallic straw against a black glass outdoor table and a riot of colours from the garden in the background.
An hour in the life cycle of BBC News 24
I was bored one day, something that does not happen very often as when I do feel bored, I just go to sleep. End of problem. But this time I grabbed my camera and tasked myself to find things of interest on BBC News 24 channel in one hour. Surprisingly I found and a variety of different things including Rihanna at the Super Bowl, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Government select committees, Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, The war in the Ukraine.weather reports, and Boris Johnsons financial shenanigans. Not bad for one hours worth of news? And highlighting the fact that I either have nothing better to do with my time, or too much time on my hands. You decide.
April Random Covid-19 Lockdown Images
So what’s this all about? Well you have to do something in this dystopian world so I thought I would do a bunch of things just for the fun of it. So collected here is a few of the best oil on water creations done on my dining table. Some apple blossom photographed in my mini studio after it fell of the tree. An interesting pot plant and slowed down water droplets into a cup.
