The Garden – Mary's Summer Garden
My friend and studio owner Phil Lynam arranged it for me to come and photograph his in-laws house and garden. So on a bright day in mid May we set off the a small village outside of Derby to capture what we find there. We were greeted by a very warm and friendly Mary who was tending the garden as the taxi arrived. She was very welcoming and happy for me to wander around her spacious garden, taking as many shots as I may. It was great. A day well spent and a journey worth the time. I only hope my pictures do the garden justice and would wish to thank Mary and her husband for letting me in to their property. Thanks also to Phil for arranging the shoot and James for taking me there and back so efficiently and in comfort.
The Poppys
Amy came home recently and told me about some poppies that had been growing out of the pavement cracks near the RSPCA Charity shop. So the next day we set off down there and took some snaps. I like poppies. I like especially the delicateness of them. It was a windy and sunny day, but with a faster shutter speed and using Amy as a wind shield, I think we got some good stuff.
I have used the pictures here in several sections including I.C.M. , still life, flowers update and a few others.
May Flower Updates
We obtained some great flowers again from the florist, one of them being this big one whose name I cannot remember, that has a large white, delicate head on it. I like photographing it from below as that is just as interesting than the above view. There are also a few poppy ones thrown in for good measure as I mentioned before thanks as always to Chris and the ladies at he Bramblesrist and Flowers to yours and Amy for her arranging and help.
That is it again for this month, be sure to come back and see something new again soon at the end of this month.
Bye xx

That is it for this month.
Be sure to come back next month.

The Garden
Well not so much from a garden, but rather St. Johns Church in town. These snaps are from the shrubs that border this Church and make the place look welcoming. Such a shame then that sadly every time I used the path in the Church to cut through to the Doctors I often come across a posse of drugged up space cadets (Junkies) ripped to their tits on methamphetamine and weed, There is a soup kitchen run by the church for the homeless and destitute. Which is a grand idea, its just that sadly it gets abused by some of the people who use it. Still the shrubs are nice to photograph.
February Flower Updates
This is February's flowers in all their glory. I only managed to process one oil painting image this month in Photoshop. As the second picture just did not look right and after numerous attempts I finally gave up. So thanks then to Chris and the ladies at he Bramblesrist and Flowers to yours and Amy for her arranging and help.
Thank you for visiting the blog. Apologies for its shortness this month and please come back for more in March. That is if we are settled in where ever we go.
Thank you.
Take Care

The Garden – Dads Winter Garden
Whilst away for the New Year we were blessed with tranquil weather and so I took the opportunity to snap away at my parents winter garden. Here are the results. Not so much beauty, as more texture and form. Not everything has to be postcard pretty to make it interesting.
January Flower Updates
Another year starts in great shape with a fresh batch of flowers from my favourite florist. This month we have a spray painted flower whose name I cannot remember, but it looks good.
Thanks as always to Chris and the ladies at he Bramblesrist and Flowers to yours and Amy for her arranging and help.
That is it for this month.
Be sure to come back next month.

Fern Thompson second shoot– Slideshow
Model: Fern Thompson
Music: 'Boogie, Oogie, Oogie' – A Taste Of Honey
Fern Thompson second shoot
Fern Thompson who I briefly worked with a couple of years back at a location shoot in a train station, has been pushing her plate up for another shoot ever since. She has waited a long time, but finally we got together again at the studio in Derby. Fern came all the way from the outskirts of Manchester and she was brilliant. We completed three sets including some breakfast munchies and a heavy pink hair dryer. I really enjoyed the shoot and we have plans for next years Summer to do a location shoot near Salford, Manchester.
So thanks then as usual to Fern for modelling Shadrine at Kavour for her makeup magic and to Phil at The Boardroom, in Derby for all his help.
November Flower Updates

So thank you to Chris and the ladies at the shop as well as Amy for her input. That is it for this month, see you all again in a few weeks at just around Christmas time.

*NEW* Flowers – Oil On Canvas
Whilst surfing through Youtube online a while back, I fell upon a tutorial that showed one of the new tools in Photoshop that I had not come across before. It turned images into pieces of artwork like oil paintings or watercolours. Its Photoshops answer to AI. Now I have very mixed feelings about the subject of AI. I can see its obvious potential, as well as see the damage it can possibly do to peoples jobs and livelihoods in the long term. That aside, the genie is out of the bottle, and I did like the results. So here are the starter pictures for a new gallery simply called 'Oil on Canvas.' I hope you enjoy it?
*NEW* Flowers – White Box
This is the second of our new galleries starting this month called 'White Box' and its just that. A white cardboard box with a flower in it. The box was from and packaging of a Toshiba portable hard drive and I thought it looked good for the new gallery. Its still work in progress, but I am enjoying it. Although it is sad to cut up a perfectly good flower, the art justifies itself in the end I hope.
October Flower Updates and the Black and White Section hiatus
Some changes in store for the flower images, but I shall get to that in a bit. I would like to say a big thank you to Chris and all the staff at Bramblesflowers and Flowers to yours for once again getting a great selection of flowers for Amy and I to photograph. It was also great to Chris at the shop again, mending after his accident. He showed me some images on his phone of the many pins he has in his leg. I am a bit squeamish about such things and its not easy to see them. Still it was good to see him again. Take care mate.
So changes. I have decided to put the Black and White section on a hiatus as I think that section is now better served by the Square B/W gallery. I may make a collective 'best of' page and am toying with the idea to start a High Key gallery. What do you think?
So that is it for this month. Thanks for dropping by and be sure to come back next month.

Mercybongo at the Art Gallery
This months model shoot was with our old friend and regular Mercybongo, but this time on location at the Art Gallery. Mercy wore a fetching orange wig to this shoot and a few woollen costumes that stood out against the bleakness of the grey concrete walls. Sadly someone graffiti the wall outside the building and it was inturn painted over. Yet it stands out as the colours do not match and it looks ugly.
As it was a location shoot and time was against us we did not have Shadrine to do the makeup in this case. So Mercy did her own and it still looks nice. So thank you then to model Mercybongo and to Amy for her help on the day. Thank you to the Art Gallery for the great location.
I hope you all enjoy it.
September Flower Updates
Thank you as always to the staff at The Bramblesflowers and Flowers to yours for once again getting a great selection of flowers for us to take in our little home studio. This month we had a thistle with several heads on it. While maybe not the prettiest of plants, it does have form and texture that looks good in photos. Get well Chris … being out of action is frustrating I know well. So here wishing you and your leg a speedy repair.
That is it again for this month. Thanks as always to Amy for her help and be sure to drop by at the end of the month for Octobers updates.

Emily Bajic Fashion Shoot
This was a shoot that nearly never happened. I had originally booked asian model Supple Suki for this Augusts event, but I screwed up. I failed to confirm it with Suki and so she took another booking elsewhere. I had to scramble around for another model who was size six dress and was lucky to find the lovely Emily Bajic. She was perfect for the job and a delight to work with. We did quiet a bit of the blurred look I like doing, many of which you can see here on this blog. The shoot took place at The Boardroom, and Makeup was provided with grace by Shadrine at Kavour
Thanks then to Phil and Shadrine as well as model Emily and Amy for her help.
The Garden 4
Collected here are the edited highlights from a quick walk around my fathers pride and joy, his garden. There is often new things to find each time we go there and at different times of the year. Enjoy.
