January Flower Update

Fresh new year with a healthy offering of flower pictures to be going on with.. I have purchased a Pin Hole Lens for my Nikon and will try it out on next months flower pictures. I hope it works and I can show you all the results. Stay tuned.

Years end and a hope for a better tomorrow ....

Is it just me or has this year flown by?

It did not seem all that long ago when I was pondering just what I would do with the rest of the year. I set myself some goals in January, and many of which I never achieved, but I still had fun trying. A few people I know did not make it through the year sadly and some so tragically young. But there is always another day so we go on and on until our days run out. To come in the new year is more shoots with Tyler Dyce and more with other great models like Christine Cain. I would also like to see the return of my old friend Monalisa Moyo. I miss her being around. Thank you to everyone for helping me this year with a special mention to my wife Amy for her behind the scenes help, advice and sandwiches. See you all in January …

December Digital Art

Only three for the road this month, but I have tried to make them as real as possible for fantasy pictures. The first image is called ‘Aliens ate my head and the return of the lost test card people’. the middle image is called ‘Man of the woods’ and the final picture is titled ‘Lady Margaret’ Please enjoy.

Projects - Sound Of The Suburbs

A few more snaps to add to the scrap book of odd things. These were taken near my house, as its not too far to walk. Thanks to ASDA and to 2nd Generation Unisex Hair Salon for there help.

Tyler Dyce - Chinese styled fashion shoot, December 2019

No shoot would be complete without Tyler Dyce making a show. Here we have a Oriental themed shoot taken in the studio and then some colour grading in photoshop. Tyler was amazing as she always is and a brilliant model to work with. There will be more (much more) for her in 2020. So thanks here to Tyler and Christine Cain for modelling. To Karen Hegarty MUA for her hair and makeup. To Stef Edwards for his much needed help. And to Lee Henshaw for his studio.

Christine Cain - Chinese styled fashion shoot, December 2019

It really great to welcome back the amazing and creative model all the way from San Fransico, the lovely Christine Cain. We last had Christine in the studio for the Jinn shoot a few months back, which she was brilliant at. So it was only natural to give her another turn. Thanks then to Christine and to Tyler Dyce for modelling. To Karen Hegarty MUA for her hair and makeup. To Stef Edwards for his help and Lee Henshaw for his studio lend.

December Flower Update Extra

This is a few extra pictures of the clematis plant I got from Blossoms Florist this month and give them a sort of painting look to them.

December Flower Update

Here are the flower updates for the month with a bit … just a bit … of a christmas feeling about them. In a year of change whem we said a sad goodbye to Goldsmith Flowers and a warm welcome to Blossoms Florist, I hope for some stability and continuity in 2020

Pour Esther - pavane pour une infante défunte

In your prayers please spend a thought for my friend, someone we worked with back at the start of the the year Esther Oyediji (aka Queen Esther). When we had the shoot together none of us knew that Esther was in fact pregnant at the time with her first born child. It was only recently that she asked whether I would like to do a maternity shoot with her? However by this time I was already fully booked up unfortunately and had to decline the kind offer.

Sadly since that time Esther has informed me that she and her husband have lost their baby son. I do not know the reasons why and I never asked, but it was heart breaking enough to know their little boy has gone. Life is not always fair and can seem so arbitrarily random and cruel at times like these. Still we will be seeing Esther back in the studio early next year, but until then please spare a place in your thoughts and prayers for her and her husband

… and their little boy, Daniel.

God be with you and your family at this time and always. Try to remember that although it seems dark now, there is always a tomorrow Esther x

Projects - Geoff Amos Shoot

Now heres an interesting person. Meet Geoff Amos, Geoff is a retiree, a magician, ex-DJ, male character model and all round great person to work with. Geoff was highlighted to me by the owner of the studio I use as a possible shoot candidate so I got in touch and he agreed. Geoff has often been cast as characters like Fagin, Jack the Ripper, chimney sweeps (think Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins). So we did a bit of the victorian look with his many props as well as a more modern take, with Geoff slicked back hair and fags. We wanted to give him a menacing old school gangster look and he did it perfectly. The photographs were done jointly between Tyler Dyce and myself (Tyler’s pictures are the the ones without borders) Tyler and I both think Geoff was amazing and can not wait to get him back in the new year. One more thing. I have placed his pictures in the ‘Projects’ folder as they are not really fashion pieces. Please enjoy and thanks to Geoff Amos, Tyler Dyce, Tari Klopp and studio owner Lee Henshaw.

Projects - Sound Of The Suburbs

I have been once again capturing my surrounds and showing them in a de-saturated, bleak fashion. I quite enjoy these, it doesn’t expend too much effort and can look effective.

November Flowers Update

Its coming to the end of this year, so the summer feel to the pictures is changing ever so slightly. Here then are the flower collection for November. Please enjoy.

October Digital Art

This months collection of digital art features a collectic subjects from Asia and Africa to emaciated women to Jesus on a telegraph pole. Please dont be offended.

*New* - Projects - Sound Of The Suburbs

This may take a bit of explaining, but I have made a new folder on the site called ‘Projects.’ The first project is an ongoing one I have named ‘Sound Of The Suburbs’ after the punk anthem by The Members. It is supposed to show mundane things we all take for granted and often ignore. Some pictured in a desoaute way. Here are the first four.

Amy and the umbrella shoot

This is a little doodle and practice shoot using the lensbaby sweet 80 and a new lens for the Nikon. This featurs my dearest love in her best unlaced boots and white umbrella. We had a good time, then went home and had a pizza.
