November Flower Updates

Its getting mighty close to Christmas season, the season when Mariah Carey comes out of her cave to warble at us again. But not before we have just had Halloween and Fireworks night. And that is represented in the Brambles flower shop who have once again provided us with some really great flowers to work with. I am especially fond of the three football shaped plants on sticks that I have photographed before on their own and singulary, but never as a set of three. I even added them to the ever growing carousel pictures on the landing page of this web site (its the third picture in!). So a big thanks then goes out to our friends at Brambles Florist and Flowers to yours, Chris and the team for all of their input. Thanks also to Amy for helping with the shoot and organising the preparations to the shoot as she often does.

See you all next month for a festive season offering. X

Still Life Update

My wife has a habit of bringing home bits and bobs she finds on her journeys. They could be interesting stuff that she finds in charity shops like vases, which always come in handy or twigs with dried up leaves on them. She recently found on sale this ceramic candle holders that looked a bit like the faces from Easter Island with a view to taking there pictures. So now you know what I am doing this weekend? But last month she brought home a darkened wet twig that was all gnarled and had some ripe crimson red berries on it. You would not give it a second glance if you see it on the pavement, but Amy noticed it and we took some pictures of it. I added a frosty look in Photoshop to the three images and this is what the results look like. Thank you to Amy and enjoy this months Still Life / Fine Art?

January Updates

Welcome back to the new years gallery kick off and sadly no model shoots to show you. It does also look likey that there won’t be a proper studio shoot until maybe April or May the way this Covid-19 situation is going. I know I don’t need to be reminded of it, as we are all suffering, but I just wish I could do something in a studio away from my four walls.

But like I said, we are all suffering one way or another.

Anyway, I managed to do some digital art this month after a break and do some more stuff for fine art and projects. There is also the flower work that I am so grateful to still be able to do with help from Chris and Wendy at Brambles Florist and Flowers to Yours. Not to mention, and not forgetting, my wife Amy who always helps me with the pictures.

One more thing to look out for is a review from Lens Culture of my efforts I submitted to one of their awards for Fantasy Art. Its not a bad review, worth a look … it’s at the bottom of this months flowers and quite a lengthy read.

Well thats it for now. Enjoy the blog and catch you next month.
