January 2024 Flower Updates

Start the year as you mean to go on with some great flowers to work with from our friends at . Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours. The quality of their flowers is always tip top and I am very much reliant upon them for their help. So thank you to Chris and the ladies at Brambles and Flowers To Yours. A thank you also to Amy for her help taking the pictures in our home studio (outhouse).

December Flower Updates

So t his pretty much brings us to a close for this months session and another productive year. I know it always seems like I am handing out applause like a kid in sweet shop, but this really is team effort. Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours go out of their way to get me some truly lovely flowers to photograph. They have never let me down. So huge thanks to Chris and all the staff at the Brambles and Flowers To Yours. A mention and thanks also to my dear wife, who help is invaluable.

I do hope you enjoy the four slide shows above for some of this years highlights and see you all next month … and see you all next year.

October Flower Updates

I do not know if its seasonal and perhaps because of Halloween, but our friends at the Brambles Florist pull out all the stops to get us some very different flowers this month. We always get top quality flowers to photograph from them, but there are some strange ones here today. One of my favourites is the dark red gerbera that looks as though its been through a shredder with spiky petals. One of the flowers that resembles buds on the end of two slender spikes is still opening. So I hope to get a second shoot out of them soon. So its a huge thanks to Chris and the ladies at the Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours. You never cease to amaze me! And of course a big thanks to my assistant and wife Amy for her long sufferance and help.

August Flower Updates

Its the end of Summer flower shoot in the home studio this month, with autumnal weather being dominant all season long. I have mixed feelings on that as I am not keen with scorching hot Summers, but we have not had a solid week of warm weather this year. Maybe we might be in for an Indian Summer I hope?

A big thanks then to our friends in the Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours. to Chris and the ladies for all their help and assistance in beginning this months flowers to you. A mention also to my wife Amy for all her help at taking the images. It could not be done without all of you.

April Flower Update

Its Tulip month this month at the Brambles Florist and I got my hands on a few lovelies to photograph. Added to them are a few snaps of the huge red tulips from Mercybongo and Carls garden they cut for the photo shoot that will appear in next months blog update, So all round another productive month on the flowers front. Thanks then to Chris and the ladies at Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours for all their invaluable help. Thank you also to Amy for all her help.

February Flower Update

Here are some flower pictures Amy and I created this month after visiting The Brambles Florist a few days before. We got to shoot a tulip flower this month which is a sign to me that spring is around the corner and with it a good variety of beautiful flowers to come. Thanks as always to our friends in the Brambles Florist, and Flowers To Yours, Chris and the ladies. Thanks also to Amy for her help.

January Flowers Update

We have started the year off with a great showing of new flowers from our friends Chris and the ladies at Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours. A lot of white going on this month and viewers may think my eye sight has completely gone when they see blurred pictures. But this is not the case.

I have simply smeared a UV filter on the front of the lens with Vaseline to give it that dreamy effect. Picasso had his 'Blue Period,' so I can have my 'Blurred Period.'

Why not finish the year on a high with some pictures of flowers, not quite seasonal enough for some, but I am immensely happy with them. Its been a great year for flower photographing with help of course from Chris and the ladies at Flowers To Yours and the Brambles Florist. We had a really good handful of flowers to photograph this month from our friends in Brambles Florist and Flowers To Yours. Not that we don't always, but this month we were lucky to get a 'Love in the mist' flower as well as a monsterously huge pink peony flower.
